SELLDORF ARCHITECTS PARTICIPATES IN THE ASSOCIATION FOR PRESERVATION TECHNOLOGY

Selldorf Architects, November 12, 2022

On November 12th, Sara Lopergolo FAIA, Partner at Selldorf Architects spoke at The Association for Preservation Technology (APT) Detroit 2022 conference. “The Art and Life of Buildings: Two Case Studies, Hauser & Wirth Los Angeles and Luma Arles, France.” In her presentation Sara discussed the firm’s approach to preservation of these two former industrial sites as they were transformed into new cultural centers, delivering new programmatic, sustainability and operational goals.

The APT Detroit Conference explores the current array of conservation approaches for industrial heritage places at an international scale. A parallel discourse on the role of preservation technology and its application to the conservation of materiality will also be relevant throughout the symposium. The program aims to closely examine how sustainability in heritage places might inform how we interpret potential challenges in the reuse of industrial sites and potentially the presentation of industrial archaeological places in the future.
