Michael Werner Gallery sought to anchor their presence in London with their first location in an 18th century townhouse in Mayfair. Its listed status required that the historic interiors be preserved with limited modifications. The interior was gently reconfigured to create the ideal proportions for the gallery’s domestic-scaled exhibition spaces. Project renovations included the restoration and simplification of ornamental paneling, as well as the addition of museum-quality lighting and new floors.
