Boesky West - Selldorf Architects - New York

Boesky West was an art gallery on Aspen’s Main Street in the former cabin of James “Horsethief” Kelly, an active photographer during the late 1800s. The 3,000 square foot project updated and expanded the original structure built in 1886, converting it into a welcoming, day-lit gallery and event space, office, and apartment. The design maintained the rustic charm of the original log structure integrating modern elements to create a minimalist and serene environment ideal for showcasing art. The project was envisioned to provide more opportunities for experimentation and collaboration between artists, curators, art historians, critics, and other members of the community in the vibrant Aspen landscape
