UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA ANNOUNCES $300 MILLION FUNDING MILESTONE FOR NEW CENTER FOR THE ARTS

When completed in 2030, the UVA Center for the Arts will provide a multidisciplinary arts ecosystem that includes performance, visual art, music, and dance in an integrated setting. Diamond Schmitt, Selldorf and VMDO are collaborating on the project with Selldorf designing the museum portion of the building, which unites the Fralin Museum of Art and Kluge-Ruhe Gallery under one roof for the first time. Alongside the new Diamond Schmitt designed 1200-seat Performance Hall these spaces will enhance teaching and learning, support groundbreaking artistic work, and deepen engagement among students, faculty, visiting artists, scholars, and the wider community.
