Selldorf Architects, STUDIOS Architecture and BASE Paysagiste selected for Louvre-Nouvelle Renaissance Project

Selldorf Architects, May 18, 2026

The French Minister of Culture has announced the winner of the “Louvre-Nouvelle Renaissance” competition and we are deeply honored that our team of Selldorf Architects, STUDIOS Architecture and BASE Paysagiste has been selected.

Through new entries and circulation from the east, the competition for the enhancement of the Louvre’s Grande Colonnade provides new and sustainable improvement to the ways in which the public is welcomed and the work of the employees within the most visited museum in the world.

The Louvre noted that our winning project was selected for the quality of its architectural proposal and its heritage, urban and landscape integration, which fully balances the challenges of upgrading the welcome of the public, clarity of circulation, and new landscape — all with consideration of safety issues.

With sincere thanks to our entire team including Setec Bâtiment, Cronos Conseil, L’Observatoire International, Lamoureux acoustics, Atelier Franck Boutté, Nyeborg Préventeur, BuroHappold Engineering, BMF, Re:lab, CL Design, and Cogito Ergo Sum.
