We are delighted to announce that Partner Sara Lopergolo has been elevated to the American Institute of Architects College of Fellows. This is an honor awarded to AIA members who have made significant contributions to the architecture profession. The program was developed to elevate those architects who have achieved a standard of excellence in the profession and made a significant contribution to architecture and society on a national level.  Only 3 percent of AIA members have this distinction.

Annabelle Selldorf is one of the Design Co-Chairs of this year’s Winter Show, the leading art, antiques, and design fair in America, featuring over 70 of the world’s top experts in the fine and decorative arts. Held at the historic Park Avenue Armory in New York City, the fair highlights a dynamic mix of works dating from ancient times through the present day and maintains the highest standards of quality in the art market.

Annabelle Selldorf gave a Keynote Lecture to the audience of Women in Design 2020+, an international Conference and Exhibition curated by the HECAR Foundation, which aims to share stories of women around the world who have excelled in the field of architecture, construction, and other related design fields.

Luma Arles and 10 Bond Street have received Design Awards from AIA New York State Chapter.  Luma Arles, a contemporary art center in Arles, France, was given an Award of Merit in the Adaptive Reuse/Historic Preservation category. 10 Bond Street, a 34,000 sf building in New York’s NoHo neighborhood, was given an Award of Citation in the Residential Multi Family, Multiple Dwellings category. We are thrilled to be included again on Architectural Digest’s AD100 list. The magazine features the living room of our Maupin-Tonchi Osborne Apartment, a project that illustrates harmony between the client’s vintage furniture collection, modern artwork, and new Vica furniture including the 90-degree table, custom side chairs, and the wonderful chandelier created in collaboration with Seguso.

On November 6, the 14^th Street mixed-use development known as “Liz” was officially dedicated, with city officials, Whitman-Walker Health, Fivesquares Development and Annabelle Selldorf giving speeches at the ceremony. “Let this project be a reminder that housing, cultural space, and medical care are imperative to how this city moves forward,” said D.C. Mayor Bowser.

Annabelle Selldorf was the honored guest at the New York City Landmarks Preservation Foundation’s annual “Lunch at a Landmark” event at The Morgan Library & Museum on Monday, Oct 7. The NYLPF was established in 1980 to support the work of the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission and to foster public awareness of preservation through education outreach. Included in the program was a brief presentation of the firm’s work followed by a conversation with Barry Bergdoll.

Selldorf Architects celebrated the grand opening of the Mwabwindo School during the 14+ Foundation’s annual gala alongside collaborators from Silman Enginering, Renfro Design Group and Studio 189. The school recently welcomed 250 students from preschool through 7th grade with a curriculum supplemented by arts and Montessori-based programs.

We are delighted to announce that Selldorf Architects has been selected as design architects for the Hispanic Society Museum & Library’s Strategic Architectural Plans, enhancing visitor experience and engaging the public. Working alongside executive architects Beyer Blinder Belle and landscape architects Reed Hilderbrand, the team will carry out a comprehensive renovation of the Main Building, designed by Charles Pratt Huntington in 1908, and will restore its galleries, as well as restore Audubon Terrace to accommodate a wide variety of public programs with the aim to integrate with the neighborhood and the city at large.

Selldorf Architects is truly honored to have been selected by Dumbarton Oaks for their campus improvement project that will enhance sustainability, K-12 educational activities, and support of the arts and humanities. Working in collaboration with landscape architect Reed Hilderbrand, the proposed Greenhouse Project will comprise two phases: the construction of a state-of-the-art energy-efficient greenhouse to support critical plant care and propagation for the historic garden designed by Beatrix Farrand, followed by the renovation of the historic greenhouse.
