Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego receives AIA San Diego Legacy Award

The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego has received AIA San Diego’s Legacy Award, honoring the museum as a landmark project for its lasting impact on San Diego’s architectural identity.

Selldorf Architects’ 2022 expansion and renovation of MCASD built upon the museum’s significant architectural history while creating a more welcoming visitor experience and strengthening its connection to its spectacular coastal setting. The project, which nearly doubled the existing square footage and quadrupled the gallery space, provided new programming opportunities to reinforce MCASD’s role as a cultural hub in the La Jolla community for years to come.
