Selldorf Architects

Located in Wannsee, a lakeside neighborhood on the outskirts of Berlin, the design combines the sophistication of contemporary urban architecture with an appreciation for the rural beauty of the site. The project’s sixteen residential units are organized into two buildings along the water’s edge—a configuration which provides each unit with uninterrupted lake views to the north, and views of the complex’s private landscaped gardens to the south. 

The mostly glass north and south façades are balanced with the craftsmanship of brickwork along the east and west façades. Inside, the project includes a mix of unit types (studio, 2 and 3 bedrooms, and townhouses) and features a penthouse with rooftop gardens on the top level. Located along the street is the complex’s third building, a dedicated fitness and spa facility which also acts a threshold and point of entry for the larger site.
