Fifth Avenue Apartment New York, NY. Selldorf Architects

Fifth Avenue Apartment

New York, NY

This apartment in a pre-war building is a full-scale interior renovation combining two apartments into one. The result is a spacious living room open to the kitchen and dining, creating a loft-like atmosphere.

The client’s extensive art collection includes work by artists Raymond Pettibon, Louise Bourgeois, Le Corbusier, Sigmar Polke, and Rachel Whiteread, and an eclectic collection of furniture spanning from ancient Chinese to European and American Modernist. Several VICA pieces tie the ensemble together, purchased from the company’s line or designed custom by the in-house team at Selldorf.

Marble floors and white walls provide a backdrop for art and furnishings throughout the residence. The private master bedroom and bathroom are separated from the main living spaces by a glass door.
